There is no fixed forex forum for the Forex (the foreign exchange) but before you get started trading on the Forex you should try to find a trusted Forex trading forum that includes a number of online traders who can share successful trading strategies with you.
Getting into Forex trading without forex forum tips can be a rocky road. We have gone out to various forums and written down some starter tips for you. Here are three strategies on Forex trading that are recommended by a forex forum online trader and which you should address:
First forex forum tip: know your forex trading market
Educate yourself about the currencies that you trade. The more you know about the country whose currency you're trading in the Forex market, the more accurately you'll be able to predict which way the money will move.
Second forex forum tip: pick a Forex trading system - and stick with it.
Savvy Forex traders will tell you that system is everything. Forex trading by system lets you automate your trades based on history, following the traditional peaks and valleys. Set up a system and live with it to make the most of your Forex trading.
Third forex forum online tip: practice makes perfect - but it's not the real world.
Practice Forex trading accounts are great for learning how a particular trading account works - but they're not the real world. Many experienced traders recommend starting off with a mini forex account to minimize your losses while you get acclimated.
The forex forum is meant to be the place where traders from around the globe can relay information and ideas. Their purpose is to generate trading strategies.
Here are some other things you should know about most forex forums:
*To protect the privacy of participants on a forex forum, posting email addresses is usually not permitted.
*There is usually an intermediary company that passes messages between contributors.
*Profanity or disruptive behavior on the forums is also not permitted.
*Personal attacks on individual participants are not permitted.
*Readers of a forex forum are encouraged to respect the ideas of those who have been kind enough to contribute to the forum and treat one another with civility and respect.
*Also when posting a message, you need to include your location (initials are optional) and usually only one identity is permitted per forum.
So before you start forex trading, go out and find a good forex forum. The strategies you could learn and the relationships you could develop, could be worth their weight in gold.

Forex trading can be like day-trading
fsegura
Forex trading, or foreign currency trading, has become a bit of a craze of late, especially since it is something available to anyone who owns a computer. And anyone who is willing to put in some training time can profit fromforex trading.
The forex market finds traders from all around the globe monitoring currency fluctuations, not unlike the way a day trader may monitor a stock's fluctuation on the Dow Jones.
In forex trading, a trader will pair two types of currency, for example the U.S. dollar and the British pound. As it requires more of one currency to purchase another, that currency loses value. Not unlike, stock trading, forex traders try to accumulate currency when it weakens in hopes of selling it when it goes up in value.Forex trading is not unlike the buy low, sell high approach found in stock trading.
The way a trader on the forex market exchange goes about acquiring currency is by giving a bid/ask quote, saying he is willing to buy, for example 1.6 marks per dollar and sell them at 1.625 per dollar. One must be a market trader to have access to this process. So most people who areforex trading on line buy the currency through a bank, where they'll pay a commission, then have to figure the commission paid to the bank into the calculation of their spread, or profit margin, when they sell it.
Forex trading is not an easy path to riches. And some people have lost considerable money in miscalculating the market. With its increased popularity, on some days theforex market exchange can see more than one trillion dollars exchanged. Packages for teaching a new forex trader how to invest in the market can range in price.

Tips On How to Start Trading Forex
By: Amy Wells
If you've decided to jump in and check out the Forex, or foreign currency market, there are a number of things you should keep in mind as a beginning trader. Your experience with Forex can be a long and profitable one, and it is essential to be prepared at the onset so you can start leveraging your tools and resources at once, and start building experience.
To get started, once you've located a brokerage you would like to work with, you should open up a demo account, so you can start making practice trades. When you are ready to open a real account, its a good idea to also keep your demo account open. You'll be able to test alternative trades with your demo account, which gives you the ability to keep learning and testing strategies. You'll also be able to see if you are being too liberal or conservative in your real account, by testing out different trade amounts in your demo account and comparing the outcomes.
To become more successful with Forex, research is the name of the game. If you tend to jump in first and ask questions later, you may want to be a little more deliberate, and start by understanding the basics of how the market works, such as the trading terms and terminology that are used in Forex. There are many tutorials available on the Internet, and much of the basic information can be accessed at no cost.
You should also stay informed with current events, such as political, social and economic factors that can effect a country's currency rates. While you don't want to feel overwhelmed by a barrage of information, Forex trading is fluid, and these external factors play a part in currency fluctuations that impact your trading.
Probably the most important piece of advice is to have a money management plan in place. You should only use money you can afford to lose when you invest in the Forex market, and have only a set amount of money at risk. There are no guarantees in Forex trading, and you don't want to get wiped out. In addition, you should be especially careful when trading on margin, which is borrowed money to trade with. Margin money is not free money, and if you can accumulate bigger losses if you are trading on too much.
Forex trading can be fun and profitable, but it does carry a number of risks and uncertainties. By doing your research, practicing and shadowing with a demo account, and carefully managing your money, you'll be able to minimize your risks and increase your success with Forex.

Common Questions Asked In Forex Trading
By: Jason Uvios
It is not entirely surprising to know that the biggest financial market of this planet is at large an unfamiliar terrain to a relatively large mass of investors and traders given the fact that the access was some what difficult till the advent of internet lately. The other real fact is that the forex market was the domain of large banks and hedge funds that operated secretively enough which kept the masses at a distance. To this end, there are several fundamental questions that remained unanswered, from the point of view of both novices and the not so new traders and the investors alike.
Is The Forex Market Different From Other Markets?
Yes it is. The fundamental difference is that the forex market is not regulated by any centralized body as it is a world wide exchange market. Neither there are any clearing houses nor there are panels set up for arbitration dispute settlement. So how does the business go on? One has to go by trust and the metaphorical handshakes only.
The Advantage of Liquidity on Your Side
The biggest market in the world trades 24 hours a day and 5 days a week. The sheer size of it and the scope which extends from Asia to Europe to Americas is enough to make it the most accessible one in this world. The size of daily trade is over US$3 billion.
There Is No Commission Part in Forex Trading
A small surprise this. But this is not without a reason. Much unlike the stock or futures markets, where the brokers charge a commission for acting on your behalf as agents to buy and sell, the facilitators here are dealers who trade in principles and bear risk against investors' trades while making money through the currency market spread.
Prices are quoted in 'percentage of point'. This means all prices are quoted till the 4th decimal point which equals 1/100th portion of 1%. For example 1 Euro in INR = 59.1463 unlike in the normal everyday markets where prices are quoted upto 2 decimal points only. But this is not true of Japanese Yen.
What Do You Mean By Carry System?
Carry is pretty popular kind of trade with all and sundry which helps to pocket the inter currency interest differences apart from the capital appreciation in case of long position. This works fine when you finance your long position acquisition through low interest currency.

Automated Forex Trading - 4 Benefits
By: Michael Williams
In the world of Forex trade, the concept of automating foreign exchange trading is becoming a new trend that a lot of people are looking into. Exchange-traded futures are the first group to seriously consider automated transactions. Also the Interbank spot FX market has decided to use the automated method as well. Why exactly are these groups looking to it? Let's take a closer look at automatic forex and see if we can figure out why.
1) Real-time Transactions: One of the reasons it has begun to become successful is because transactions can be conducted in real time. With manual systems it is very difficult to achieve this advantage that is offered by automated Forex systems. A lot of trades happen within milliseconds and this can be a huge push for auto transactions versus manual. A few other problems that can be greatly helped or avoided with auto Forex trading include when a trader is away from their desk or if they have had several losses in a row that hinders them from making new trades for a while. Both of these can be greatly helped by using auto trade as opposed to manual.
2) Greater Diversification: Having better options in regards to diversification can be an advantage when it comes to automatic transactions. This means that a single trader can trade in different markets in different time zones at once. This also allows them the option of multiple exchange models. Another great advantage when it comes to this advanced trading system is having models to analyze short-term data. An option that is not available in any other way. This therefore can help give those using this system a bigger advantage over other traders. This means they can then predict in as short a period of times as fifteen minutes to half an hour. This once again helps you out in trading in different markets at different times.
3) Greater Liquidity: Auto foreign exchange can also give traders more liquidity. This was discovered when futures exchanges had a huge rise in trades after they started using the programmed system. With all the advantages to this modern system, are there are any problems we need to look at? In fact there are.
One of these problem areas is that some people are worried that the orders will increase too much if everyone adopts this automatic system. This can cause problems with lack of bandwidth or engine capacity trying to process all these trades in real time, though there are already people looking into how to avoid this problem before it happens.
4) Risk management: Another problem area for the auto system is risk management. There is always the consideration of checks having to be made when trades are being made. These checks need to happen in an environment where everything is properly synchronized. This is a technical problem and can be resolved when technology improves. Besides these two problems, there seems to be a lot more advantages, than disadvantages. This makes auto transactions the best option for most if not all Forex traders.

A Guide For Newbies To Forex Trading
By: John Philips
The main function of the foreign exchange market is to support the trading of assorted global currencies. Although the majority of trades concern only a small number of currencies, including the U.S. Dollar, Yen, Euro, Swiss Franc, Pound Sterling, Australian Dollar, and Canadian Dollar, many other different types of currency are exchanged on a smaller scale. Over 90% of all exchanges on the forex markets involve the U.S. Dollar.
The forex market is, despite the popular impression, a composite of several contrasting markets, each of which sustains its own rules and regulations, with no one centred market in which all currency trading takes place. The major markets, the U.S., London, and Tokyo, open during different hours because of the different time zones. When the New York market opens, and while the European markets are still operating, is when trading is heaviest and nearly two thirds of the trading action happens during this convergence.
An individual exchange rate for a given currency does not subsist since there is no centred market. The bid and ask rates for a currency whilst normally reasonably close to each other, can, because of the over-the-counter (OTC) nature of the markets, deviate among dissimilar geographic markets and market makers.
Three letters express an international currency code for every currency and because the price of a currency must be applied in reference to another currency, it is displayed in the form XXX/YYY. The price of the British Pound in U.S. Dollars is recorded as GBP/USD, for instance. Acknowledged as the base currency, and the securest currency when the pair was made, is the first in the pair while the other currency is known as the counter currency. Presented in decimal form the real prices themselves are normally rounded to the nearest ten-thousandth of a unit.
Close to $2 trillion is exchanged each day in the forex market and it comprises the largest market in the world. With more than three quarters of deals surviving less than a week forex trading is, for the most part, a high-risk, short-term market. It is a highly fluid market, a good deal more so than equities, with the many traders worldwide and the very high daily turnover rate.
The top ten most active traders, however, are responsible for nearly three quarters of total dealing volume. The trading activity that happens within the interbank market, which is formed by international banks, provide the market with bid and ask prices that are far closer than retail customers can get.
In 1972, at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, forex futures contracts, that are derivatives, were introduced and now make up around seven percent of the all foreign exchange volume.
Something else that has also taken hold and is another popular hedging strategy is foreign exchange options. Investors often buy these derivatives, which are contracts to purchase currency at a certain price on a future date, to counterbalance the decline in the price of a currency and any possible losses they might endure.
An additional means by which traders are capable of mitigating risk is through an exchange, in which both parties agree to switch one currency for another for a set period of time, and will then reverse the transaction after the period runs out.
Amongst financial markets the foreign exchange market is without competition and is a fast-paced, international currency exchange. International companies, prominent banks and financial organisations will ensure its huge popularity continues and its growth is guaranteed into the future.

FOREX 101: Make Money with Currency Trading
For those unfamiliar with the term, Forex (FOReign EXchange market), refers to an international exchange market where currencies are bought and sold. The Foreign Exchange Market that we see today began in the 1970's, when free exchange rates and floating currencies were introduced. In such an environment only participants in the market determine the price of one currency against another, based upon supply and demand for that currency.
Forex is a somewhat unique market for a number of reasons. Firstly, it is one of the few markets in which it can be said with very few qualifications that it is free of external controls and that it cannot be manipulated. It is also the largest liquid financial market, with trade reaching between 1 and 1.5 trillion US dollars a day. With this much money moving this fast, it is clear why a single investor would find it near impossible to significantly affect the price of a major currency. Furthermore, the liquidity of the market means that unlike some rarely traded stock, traders are able to open and close positions within a few seconds as there are always willing buyers and sellers.
Another somewhat unique characteristic of the Forex money market is the variance of its participants. Investors find a number of reasons for entering the market, some as longer term hedge investors, while others utilize massive credit lines to seek large short term gains. Interestingly, unlike blue-chip stocks, which are usually most attractive only to the long term investor, the combination of rather constant but small daily fluctuations in currency prices, create an environment which attracts investors with a broad range of strategies.
How Forex Works
Transactions in foreign currencies are not centralized on an exchange, unlike say the NYSE, and thus take place all over the world via telecommunications. Trade is open 24 hours a day from Sunday afternoon until Friday afternoon (00:00 GMT on Monday to 10:00 pm GMT on Friday). In almost every time zone around the world, there are dealers who will quote all major currencies. After deciding what currency the investor would like to purchase, he or she does so via one of these dealers (some of which can be found online). It is quite common practice for investors to speculate on currency prices by getting a credit line (which are available to those with capital as small as $500), and vastly increase their potential gains and losses. This is called marginal trading.
Marginal Trading
Marginal trading is simply the term used for trading with borrowed capital. It is appealing because of the fact that in Forex investments can be made without a real money supply. This allows investors to invest much more money with fewer money transfer costs, and open bigger positions with a much smaller amount of actual capital. Thus, one can conduct relatively large transactions, very quickly and cheaply, with a small amount of initial capital. Marginal trading in an exchange market is quantified in lots. The term "lot" refers to approximately $100,000, an amount which can be obtained by putting up as little as 0.5% or $500.
EXAMPLE: You believe that signals in the market are indicating that the British Pound will go up against the US Dollar. You open 1 lot for buying the Pound with a 1% margin at the price of 1.49889 and wait for the exchange rate to climb. At some point in the future, your predictions come true and you decide to sell. You close the position at 1.5050 and earn 61 pips or about $405. Thus, on an initial capital investment of $1,000, you have made over 40% in profits. (Just as an example of how exchange rates change in the course of a day, an average daily change of the Euro (in Dollars) is about 70 to 100 pips.)
When you decide to close a position, the deposit sum that you originally made is returned to you and a calculation of your profits or losses is done. This profit or loss is then credited to your account.
Investment Strategies: Technical Analysis and Fundamental Analysis
The two fundamental strategies in investing in Forex are Technical Analysis or Fundamental Analysis. Most small and medium sized investors in financial markets use Technical Analysis. This technique stems from the assumption that all information about the market and a particular currency's future fluctuations is found in the price chain. That is to say, that all factors which have an effect on the price have already been considered by the market and are thus reflected in the price. Essentially then, what this type of investor does is base his/her investments upon three fundamental suppositions. These are: that the movement of the market considers all factors, that the movement of prices is purposeful and directly tied to these events, and that history repeats itself. Someone utilizing technical analysis looks at the highest and lowest prices of a currency, the prices of opening and closing, and the volume of transactions. This investor does not try to outsmart the market, or even predict major long term trends, but simply looks at what has happened to that currency in the recent past, and predicts that the small fluctuations will generally continue just as they have before.
A Fundamental Analysis is one which analyzes the current situations in the country of the currency, including such things as its economy, its political situation, and other related rumors. By the numbers, a country's economy depends on a number of quantifiable measurements such as its Central Bank's interest rate, the national unemployment level, tax policy and the rate of inflation. An investor can also anticipate that less quantifiable occurrences, such as political unrest or transition will also have an effect on the market. Before basing all predictions on the factors alone, however, it is important to remember that investors must also keep in mind the expectations and anticipations of market participants. For just as in any stock market, the value of a currency is also based in large part on perceptions of and anticipations about that currency, not solely on its reality.
Make Money with Currency Trading on Forex
Forex investing is one of the most potentially rewarding types of investments available. While certainly the risk is great, the ability to conduct marginal trading on Forex means that potential profits are enormous relative to initial capital investments. Another benefit of Forex is that its size prevents almost all attempts by others to influence the market for their own gain. So that when investing in foreign currency markets one can feel quite confident that the investment he or she is making has the same opportunity for profit as other investors throughout the world. While investing in Forex short term requires a certain degree of diligence, investors who utilize a technical analysis can feel relatively confident that their own ability to read the daily fluctuations of the currency market are sufficiently adequate to give them the knowledge necessary to make informed investments.

Forex Made Easy for Everyone
Forex made easy is as simple as you would want it to be. The foreign exchange market is a worldwide market and according to some estimates is almost as big as thirty times the turnover of the US Equity markets. That is some figure to chew on. Forex is the commonly used term for foreign exchange. As a person who wants to invest in the forex market, one should understand the basics of how this currency market operates. Forex can be made easier for beginners to understand it and here's how.
Foreign exchange is the buying and the selling of foreign exchange in pairs of currencies. For example you buy US dollars and sell UK Sterling pounds or you sell German Marks and buy Japanese Yen. Why are currencies bought or sold? The answer is simple; Governments and Companies need foreign exchange for their purchase and payments for various commodities and services. This trade constitutes about 5% of all currency transactions, however the other 95% currency transactions are done for speculation and trade. In fact many companies will buy foreign currency when it is being traded at a lower rate to protect their financial investments. Another thing about foreign exchange market is that the rates are varying continuously and on daily basis. Therefore investors and financial managers track the forex rates and the forex market it on a daily basis.
Those who are involved in the forex trade know that almost 85% of the trading is done in only US Dollar, Japanese Yen, Euro, British Pound, Swiss Franc, Canadian Dollar and Australian Dollar. This is because they are the most liquid of foreign currencies (can be easily bought and sold. In fact the US Dollar is most recognizable foreign currency even in countries like Afghanistan, Iraq, Vietnam etc).
Being a truly 24/7 market, the currency trading markets opens in the financial centers of Sydney, Tokyo, London and New York in that sequence. Investors and speculators alike respond to the ever-changing situations and can buy and sell simultaneously the currencies. In fact many operate in two or more currency market using arbitrage to gain profits (buying in one market and selling in another market or vice versa to take advantage of the prices and book profits).
While dealing in forex, one should have a margin account. Quite simply put if you have US$ 1,000 and have a forex margin account which leverages 100:1 then you can buy US$ 100,000 since you only need 1% of the US$100,000 or US$1,000. Therefore it means that with margin account you have US$ 100,000 worth of real purchasing power in your hand.
Since the foreign currency market is fluctuating on a continuous basis, one should be able to understand the factors that affect this currency market. This is done through Technical Analysis and Fundamental Analysis. These two tools of trade are used in a variety of other markets such as equity markets, stock markets, mutual funds markets etc. Technical Analysis refers to reading, summarizing and analyzing data based on the data that is generated by the market. While fundamental Analysis refers to the factors, which influence the market economy, and in turn how it would affect the currency trading. Of course there are other economic and non economic factors which can suddenly affect the trading of the forex markets such as the 9/11 tragedy etc. One needs to have a shrewd acumen and a few number crunching abilities to strike gold in the forex market.

First 5 Steps to Take Before Trading Forex
By: Hillel Fuld
The foreign exchange (Forex) market is the biggest market in the world. Depending who you ask, there is anywhere between 2 and 4 trillion dollars traded daily in the Forex market. Not only is it the biggest, it is also the safest market due to its size and accessibility. What that means is that you, a small retail trader, can have as much or as little of an effect on the market’s currencies as the biggest bank. No one factor, person, or institution can really determine what the dollar will do today.
The fact that we are now in a recession and the world’s economy is in the worst shape it has been in years, just makes the Forex market more attractive. If one currency is losing its value, that just means another is gaining, your job is to make sure you are on the “correct” side of that equation. The Forex market has so much to offer anyone who is looking for a supplementary income or a new primary income for that matter.
Having said all that, the Forex market can also be quite intimidating to the inexperienced trader. Where does one start? What are the first steps one takes before jumping into the deep water of Forex? Perhaps there is nothing to do besides jump in and hold your breath! The following list should answer those questions and give a comprehensive list of all the steps one must take before trading even a single penny in the Forex market.
1: Read, Read, Read: It does not matter what kind of trader you are or intend on becoming, you need to do your homework. You need to read up on the history of Forex, which might seem unimportant and irrelevant to your trades, but it is not. Just like you would read up about the history of a stock you are looking to buy, you should understand all about the Forex market and its foundations.
Read about the different philosophies of Forex experts. How do they analyze the market? Understand the difference between the technical and fundamental schools of thought. Research the primary differences between the various types of brokers, namely market makers and ECNs. Determine which one is right for you.
Read about the fundamentals of trading Forex, what are the big mistakes most new traders make, understand the tips given by the experts, and implement them. In today’s world, this task is a lot easier than it was 10 years ago. Any resource you need to better understand the Forex market is available to you online. Take advantage of this and absorb as much information as you can before starting.
2: Play “Trader”: You have read for tens of hours and are now dreaming in words like leverage, spreads, pips, and Fibonacci, now what? Now, you need to choose a select number of brokers, it does not matter if these are the brokers you intend on trading real money with, and open up demo accounts. Download their trading platform, and start playing pretend. Open up positions, close them, and analyze the results. You cannot do this for enough time. Trade on demo accounts for as long as you can, until you see steady profitable results, and feel completely confident that you are ready to trade.
It is important to keep in mind that many brokers offer demo accounts in order to pull you in and get you trading, so their demo accounts are faster and more responsive than the actual trading platform. Just because you succeeded when trading a demo account, does not necessarily mean you will see the same results when trading real money. On the contrary, every trader loses some and wins some, you just need to learn from mistakes, and make sure the “some” you win are more than the “some” you lose.
3: Read More: Once you know that you have reached the stage to begin investing money, you need to do some more reading. This time it is a different type of reading. You might find this reading easier as it is sure to present clear consequences. Now is the stage that you choose how you will trade. Are you the type of person who feels anxiety when there is a lot of money on the line? Alternatively, do you know about yourself that your strength is your ability to “keep a cool”?
Read all about the different trading options available to you. You can use an auto trading system if you do not trust yourself to control your emotions and keep them out of the trading. You can go the traditional route and choose one of the many Forex brokers who offer various types of highly advanced trading platforms. No matter what you decide, you need to read. Read reviews of brokers, read techniques of auto trading, read user forums in which traders discuss their experiences with various brokers, and most importantly, visit the brokers’ websites and see whether it speaks to you.
4: Jump In: Congratulations on reaching this stage, but here is where you need to proceed with the utmost precaution. You did your research, you traded with a demo, and you decided on a broker. Now, you need to obviously become acquainted with the trading environment offered by your broker. Is their platform downloadable or is it Web based? Become familiar with the different screens of the platform and how each one helps you in your trading. Pay close attention to the integrated charts, trading history, and the actual trading screen.
It is recommended to also have another screen open with your favorite financial news website. You do not want to trade without knowing of the latest events and developments in the world’s financial markets. In the beginning, make sure not to be lured in by the flashing screens offering you to trade with high leverage. It is tempting to trade hundreds of thousands of dollars, but remember, the greater the leverage, the higher the risk. Trade small.
Once you are making consistent profits in your small positions, increase them gradually. Take baby steps, and whatever you do, do not invest all your money in one trade.
5: Perform a Weekend Summary: So you traded for an entire week. Now, step back, and analyze your trades. Use the history tool in the platform in which you traded, and try to determine how your losses could have been prevented or minimized. Did you stick to the plan? Did you let your emotion get the best of you? Look at the different trades you did not open during that week, and determine whether you made the right decision. It is important to remember that a week is an insufficient time slot in order to really reach any conclusions about your trading habits. However, it is enough time to write down some initial impressions of your trading experiences and learn from them in the following week.
Pay attention to the level of importance you attributed to the charts and technical analysis during your week as opposed to the fundamentals. It is important to ensure that you use both these tools. The most important factor is to objectively and scientifically analyze your trading activity by looking at the numbers and recording them. You might even want to ask a friend to assist you in this process, so as to leave out any emotional involvement.
These are just some initial steps to be taken by any individual before embarking in trading currencies. There are many more Forex tips and recommendations given by market experts, but if you follow these tips, you should be seeing steady profits from your trades. These profits might be small but they will eventually increase as time goes on and you become a more experienced and confident trader.

China's forex reserves top $2 trillion
The mainland's foreign exchange reserves, already the largest in the world, bulged to $2.13 trillion at the end of June, as a record $178 billion were added to the reserves during the April to June period, the People's Bank of China said Wednesday.
"With a subdued trade surplus, export revenues are clearly not driving reserve growth. The majority of the gains appear to have come from valuation changes due to the depreciation of the dollar, which has boosted the value of China's non-dollar holdings," Moody's Economy.com associate economist Alaistair Chan wrote in a note.
"Estimates suggest around 65% of China's official holdings are in U.S. dollar assets, and the remainder are denominated in euro, yen, sterling and other currencies. This mix has been relatively stable as the Chinese government continues to place the bulk of its reserves in U.S. Treasury securities," Chan added.
The increase came amid strong signs of economic recovery in China, spurred by the government's stimulus package and a strong growth in bank lending in the first six months of the year. Property and stock prices have also risen sharply on the mainland over the last few months.
Data released by the central bank Wednesday also showed that M2, the broadest measure of money supply, rose by as much as 28.5% in June from the year-earlier period.
Moody's Economy.com's Chan said the spike in money supply could be pointing toward an inflationary spike in future.
"Although China's monetary stimulus has been helping real activity, it appears to have had a greater impact on asset prices. Commodity prices have bounced back from their lows, and ample liquidity is fuelling asset transactions, notably for real estate and stocks," said Chan.
"Whether this will filter into consumer and business prices is, frankly anyone's guess, but clearly the risks are growing," he added.
Varahabhotla Phani Kumar is a reporter in MarketWatch's Hong Kong bureau.

This Forex Tip Could Be Worth Its Weight In Gold
Autor: sfrom

Forex broker involvement optional

To trade on the forex market, the largest financial market on the planet, one must use a forex broker. Not unlike a stock broker, a forex broker can also makes suggestions about which moves to make when exchanging foreign currency. Some forex brokers even supply technical analysis to some of their clients and offer tips on research to improve their success as forex traders.
Typically in the forex market a forex broker is a banking institution who may buy up large amounts of a certain currency. For years, banks were the only ones who had access to the forex markets. But today with the Internet, any forex trader, who subscribes with a forex broker, can access the market 24 hours a day.
Today, as with stock brokers, the brick and mortar institutions, such as banks, are less of an option for the individual forex trader who works from home, monitoring the news and gaining insight into certain technical information to help with his or her trading decisions.
Choosing a forex broker may depend on your needs. If you are new to the field, there are houses, or online forex brokers who may cater to your needs, providing in-depth research, ample time to demo their product and so on. Other forex brokers are geared toward the experienced online forex trader. They too offer advice, but may be less likely to offer instructional help with the information, assuming that you may already know how it may or may not benefit you when you read it. It is advisable to read about and even run a demo on several different online forex brokers before going with one.

Euro Slides to One-Month Low on Concern ECB Discord Deepening
By Bo Nielsen
April 20 (Bloomberg) -- The euro dropped to less than $1.30 for the first time in a month and fell versus the yen on concern disagreement is deepening among European Central Bank policy makers on the measures needed to combat the recession.
The euro also declined against the yen and Swiss franc after the Financial Times Deutschland cited ECB Executive Board member Lorenzo Bini Smaghi as saying the bank’s benchmark 1.25 percent interest rate is “very close” to its floor. Two central bank council members said last week they may support a rate less than 1 percent. The yen rose against all of the 16 most-traded currencies monitored by Bloomberg as European stocks and U.S. index futures dropped.
“It’s inevitable, you’re going to get disagreement on the ECB’s council,” said Neil Mellor, a currency strategist in London at Bank of New York Mellon Corp., the world’s biggest custodian of financial assets. “Currency politics will be a key issue this week.”
The euro dropped to $1.2956 as of 7:21 a.m. in New York, from $1.3044 last week. It earlier declined to $1.2947, the lowest level since March 17. Europe’s currency fell to 127.86 yen, from 129.33 yen, the weakest since March 30.
The yen strengthened as stocks declined on concern the global recession hasn’t eased, stoking demand for the currency as a refuge. The Japanese currency advanced to 98.67 per dollar, from 99.16. It appreciated to 55.28 per New Zealand dollar, from 56.32, and to 69.54 per Australian dollar, from 71.64.
Europe’s Dow Jones Stoxx 600 Index slipped 1.8 percent, the most since March 30, and futures on the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index fell 1.2 percent.
Worsening Economy
The euro dropped to a three-week low versus the yen on signs the recession in the 16-nation region is deepening. The recession in Germany, Europe’s largest economy, worsened in the first quarter, the country’s central bank said.
“The recessive underlying trend in the German economy deepened after real gross domestic product fell by 2.1 percent” in the three months to December, the Frankfurt-based Bundesbank said in its monthly bulletin today.
Asked if he favors cutting the benchmark rate to 1 percent and leaving it there, Bini Smaghi said “it would be more credible to act that way,” according to the Financial Times Deutschland. Council members George Provopoulos from Greece and Athanasios Orphanides of Cyprus indicated they may support cutting the target rate to less than 1 percent and buying debt to pump money into the economy. The ECB’s next meeting is May 7.
‘Impairing Demand’
“The uncertainty over the ECB Council meeting is impairing speculative demand for the euro augmented by limited evidence of any improvement in economic conditions in the euro zone,” Derek Halpenny, European head of global currency research at Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ Ltd. in London, wrote in a note today.
ECB President Jean-Claude Trichet said in Tokyo on April 18 he wouldn’t exclude another “very measured” rate cut, though a zero interest-rate policy wouldn’t be appropriate for the bank.
The dollar rose amid optimism increased sales on the U.S. corporate-bond market signal a thaw in the global credit freeze. Investment-grade companies sold $16.8 billion in bonds last week, 78 percent more than $9.4 billion the week before, according to Bloomberg calculations.
The dollar started strengthening against the euro three weeks ago “exactly at the time when corporate bonds played catch up with the better equity market outlook,” BNP Paribas SA analysts led by Hans-Guenter Redeker, the London-based global head of currency strategy, wrote in a note today. The U.S. currency may appreciate to $1.2880 per euro in the “near term,” Redeker wrote.
Dollar Index Gains
The Dollar Index climbed for a fifth day, its longest run of gains since January, before the Conference Board releases its index of leading U.S. economic indicators today. The gauge fell 0.2 percent in March, after dropping 0.4 percent in February, according to a Bloomberg survey of economists.
President Barack Obama said yesterday he will demand “accountability” from any U.S. banks that require additional taxpayer money following “stress tests” being conducted by regulators. The tests are being used to determine whether the companies have enough capital to cover losses over the next two years should the recession worsen.
“The policies being taken by the Obama administration are fast and comprehensive and there are signs the recession there is waning,” said Masanobu Ishikawa, general manager of foreign exchange at Tokyo Forex & Ueda Harlow Ltd., Japan’s largest currency broker. “This is positive for the dollar.”
Currency Swings
The Swedish krona fell for a fourth day versus the euro, dropping 0.7 percent to 11.1033. The Riksbank may cut the benchmark repo rate to a record low 0.5 percent tomorrow, according to 10 of 17 economists in a Bloomberg survey. Six forecast a cut to 0.25 percent and one to 0.1 percent from the current 1 percent.
The bank will give its decision tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. in Stockholm and will for the first time reveal how board members voted two weeks before the minutes are released.
Gains in the yen may be tempered after the JPMorgan Chase & Co. benchmark index of investor expectations for currency swings dropped to a six-month low of 14.4 percent on April 17.
Lower currency volatility indicates smaller exchange-rate fluctuations that can erode profit on so-called carry trades. This strategy involves borrowing funds in countries with lower interest costs, such as Japan, and investing them in nations with higher rates, allowing investors to pocket the difference.
“Big currency moves are behind us,” said Maxime Tessier, chief of foreign exchange at Montreal-based Caisse de Depot et Placement du Quebec, Canada’s biggest pension-fund manager, with about $99 billion in assets. “The volatility spike has to unwind itself over time. Selling volatility has been the winning trade so far this year and will continue to work well.”
The benchmark interest rate is 0.1 percent in Japan and as low as zero in the U.S., compared with 3 percent in Australia and in New Zealand.

8 Basic Tips on choosing Best Forex Broker
#1- Spread Amount
The spread, which is calculated in pips, is the difference between how much you can buy or sell a currency at a specific point in time.
Forex currencies are not traded through a central exchange market, so the spread can be different depending on the forex broker you use. Some online forex brokers have variable spread; some of them have two spread amounts that depend to day and night.
Some of them their spread depends to the position of market. When market is quiet the spread is small and when market is busy the spread is high. I prefer forex brokers that have fixed spread, because over the long term fixed can be safer.
#2- Execution
- How fast is the broker's order execution?
- Do they offer automatic execution?
- How much can you trade before having to request a quote?
- Do they trade against their clients?
The best way to find out is to open a demo account and give them a test drive.
#3- Leverage Options
Leverage is expressed as a ratio between the total capital that is available to be traded and your actual capital. For example, when you have a ratio of your forex broker will lend you $100 for every $1 of actual capital you have. Leverage is a necessity in forex trading because the price deviations in the currencies are set at fractions of a cent.
Before choosing an online forex broker notice that what is their leverage. Many brokerages offer a flexible margin that allows you to choose the leverage that's right for you.
#4- Account Types
Notice the forex broker you choose has mini account or not. Mini account is designed for those new to online currency trading and those with limited investment capital. There is a smaller deposit required to start trade of just $300 or less.
#5- Trading Platform
Good trading software will show live prices that you can actually trade at, not just indicative quotes. It will offer Limit and Stop orders, and ideally will let you attach these entry order. One-Cancels-Other orders are another useful feature - they mean you can set up your trade and then leave the software to get on with it.
#6- Dealing tools and value-added services
Find out online forex broker that offers the best resources and information to help you make the smartest trading decisions. A good company should offer real-time charts, technical analysis tools, real-time news and data, and software or website support. Be weary of any that refuses to share information or trial versions before opening up an account. You will want to try out their system before you choose to invest money in it.
